Oscar Taft Fox, Jr., age 77, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1947 in Caldwell County to the late Oscar Taft Fox, Sr. and Jolene Tuttle Fox. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Keith Fox.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 60 years, Kathy Phillips Fox of the home; one son, Joel Fox of Chatham, NJ; one sister, Annette Chontos and husband Dirk of Lenoir; three nephews, Matthew Evans, Josh Fox, and Shawn Fox; and one niece, Ally Chontos.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Fox will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
