Patrick John Sughrue, age 64, of Hudson, North Carolina, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Patrick was born on November 7, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Dr. John and Carole Sughrue.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Sughrue and brother, Kevin Sughrue.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, John Sughrue (Sandra) and Dennis Sughrue; sisters, Carole Carter and Judy Smith (Mark); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patrick lived every day for the Lord. He had a master's degree in Divinity. Serving the Lord was truly his calling. He would travel to any small church the Lord led him to minister at, even if it was far away.

Patrick worked commercial electrical jobs. He was also an avid bicyclist. He once rode his bicycle from Charleston, South Carolina all the way to Colorado. In college, Patrick enjoyed weight lifting. He also very much enjoyed fishing and being with loved ones. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service to honor the life of Patrick Sughrue will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 2:00PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
