Mr. Percy Willard Barnes, age 72, of Lenoir passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Amorem Hospice in Valdese.

Born September 28, 1950 in Caldwell County, Percy was a son of the late Percy Lee and Nina Kathleen Carlton Barnes. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son, Antonio Deshawn; one sister, Grace Barnes; and one brother, Anthony Barnes.

Mr. Barnes was an avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed fishing. He was a hard worker and retired from the city of Hickory after twenty years of employment. He will be remembered for his love of family, friends, and especially the Dallas Cowboys.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Percy Tirrell Dula (Jeanne); three daughters, Alysia Crowe, Zandra Anderson, and Kena Bennett; one sister, Cynthia Barnes Taylor; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
