Ralph Wesley Andes, age 81, of Bradshaw Terrace, Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at his residence.  He was born March 21, 1939 in Washington County, Tennessee to the late Ralph Jason and Willie Lucille Patrick Andes.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James Wesley Andes; and one sister, Lois Ann Switzer.

Mr. Andes was a skilled mechanic and was known as the "Transmission Man".  He was affiliated with Union Grove Baptist Church, was a proud U. S. Army Veteran, and was known as a great handy-man.  He was a loving husband and loved NASCAR racing.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Lois Smith Andes of the home; three sons, Dale Wayne Andes and wife Melody, David Keith Andes and wife Lisa, and Danny Lynn Andes, all of Johnson City, Tennessee; one daughter, Laura Andes-Coffey and husband Chris of Lenoir; one daughter-in-law, Crystal Andes of Lenoir; four brothers, D. J. Andes and wife Carol of Roanoke, VA, Darrell Dean Andes of Johnson City, TN, Kenneth Andes and Larry Edward Andes and wife Zella, all of Elizabethton, TN ; two sisters, Marie Frazier and husband Robert of Elizabethton, TN and Sue Ellis of Johnson City, TN; six grandchildren, Chad Andes, Nicholas Andes, Andy Andes, Joe Adams, Brandon Andes and Ashley Andes; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Union Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Sam Craven, Rev. Don Ingle and Rev. Jeff Lambert. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the church.

Due to COVID-19 masks and social distancing will be required.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Pearson, Terry Fowler, Tommy Land, Chris Coffey, Larry Andes and Darrell Andes.
