Randy Charles Burgess of 1939 Craig Mountain Road, Lenoir passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024.

He was born May 29, 1956, in Elkin, NC to the late Billy Jack Burgess, Sr. and Annie Alice Eller.

Randy was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He loved gardening and was a master gardener. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be outdoors. He loved his family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a wide circle of friends around the world who shared his interests in gardening and computer games. He was a devoted husband who loved Sharon, his wife of 34 years, dearly.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Burgess of the home, son Matthew Burgess, stepchildren Julia Albrecht and husband Ken, Quinton Koontz and wife Angie, and Vernon Koontz, brothers and sisters Jane Bare and husband Joe, Billy Burgess, David Burgess, Dennis Burgess and wife Rhonda, and Diane Burgess and adopted parents Jerry White and wife Donna and Dannie White as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Randy was a kind, jovial, loving person who made any room full with his presence. He will be missed and loved always.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 15 at 2:00 pm at Lelia Tuttle Park, 4010 Hartland Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
