Randy Ray Simmons, age 65, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1958 in Caldwell County to the late William Clyde Simmons and Nellie Griffin Simmons. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son, Randy Ray Simmons, Jr.; and two brothers, Julius Junior Simmons and William Arthur Simmons.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Randall "Scott" Simmons, of Lenoir; two brothers, Edward Ambrose Simmons, and Raymond Clyde Simmons and wife JoAnn, all of Lenoir; one sister, Peggy Hinson of Granite Falls; three grandchildren, Schyler Simmons, Lillyan Simmons; and Draven Simmons; one great-granddaughter, Layla Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jerry Shew. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
