Obituary

Ressie Crump Dupuis passed from this life to her heavenly home through her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the age of 81.  She was born in Caldwell County on March 5, 1944 to the late Lawrence Crump Sr. and Ruby Coffey Crump.

Ressie grew up in the Globe and was in the last High School graduating class at Collettsville School.  After graduation she married the late David Moore and had two children, her late son Greg, and her daughter Cissy.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Ressie was an avid gardener, food preserver and was known to be one of the best cooks around who enjoyed sharing her homemade food with family and friends.  She was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with them celebrating birthdays, holidays and Sunday get-togethers.  You were always welcomed to her home and she had a wonderful generous spirit.  Her most cherished role was that of "Nanny" to her grandchildren.  She worked for many years and retired from Sealed Air in Lenoir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Gaylord Crump, Elizabeth Woody, Mary Ingram, Lawrence Crump Jr., Dovie Bentley and her son, Gregory David Moore.

Those left to cherish her memory are her constant companion and loving husband of 44 years, Bruce Alfred Dupuis, mother in law Loraine Dupuis, daughter Cissy Moore Kepper and husband Donald; daughter in law Glenna Moore; grandchildren Jessica Moore Meeks and husband James, and Brittany Levey and husband Justin; and great grandchildren, Tylor Moore and wife Kara, their children Kinsley and Kayson, Matthew Meeks, Levi Meeks, Maddy Levey, Sophie Levey, Ella Levey, Harleigh Meeks Conant and husband Tyler, their children Tyler and Ben, and Makayla Meeks and her daughter, Kaisleigh.  Also surviving are two sisters, Winnie Bolick, Dolly Coffey, and one brother Ronnie Crump, her dear close friend of more than 50 years Christine Coffey, her beloved dog Jedi, as well as many nieces and nephews and Dupuis family members whom she loved dearly.

A service to honor Ressie will be held on Wednesday, March 26 at 2:00 pm at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Gragg and Reverend Donna O'Neal presiding.  There will be a time of family and friend's visitation from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will immediately follow at Globe Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Bowman, Donald Kepper, James Meeks, Matthew Meeks, Tylor Moore, Clyde Woody and alternate Paul Norwood.
