Mr. Richard Lee Spears, age 78, of Boomer passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Wilkes Health and Rehabilitation.

Born December 8, 1947 in Caldwell County, Richard was a son of the late Arnold and Bernice Elizabeth Hartley Spears.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Eugene Spears.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Faye Walker Spears; Two brothers, David Arnold Spears and Floyd Lowell Spears (wife Lily); he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Rev. Hal Greene and Rev. Robert Livingston officiating.  Burial will take place in the Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery at a later time.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to the Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 248 Little Rock Church Road, Boomer, NC  28606.
