Rita Wagner Maness, age 91, of Hickory passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Taylorsville House. She was born February 17, 1934 in Germany to the late Frank Wagner and Katherine Stoknick Wagner. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Maness, Sr.; and one daughter, Evelyn Maness Hall.

Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Charles Maness, William Maness, and Jessie Maness, Jr.; numerous beloved siblings; two nephews, Steve Maness and Bruce Maness; one niece, Debbie Maness Austin; and four faithful companions, Toby, Pumpkin, Tom, and Tom Cena.

Graveside services will be held Monday, December 15, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Allen Norrod officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
