Dr. Robert "Bob" Baker Evans, Jr., age 81, of Granite Falls passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at his home.

Born October 26, 1943 in Lake City, South Carolina, Bob was the son of the late, Robert B. Evans Sr. and Daisy White Evans.  Bob grew up in Sumter, South Carolina.  Bob was a lifelong pastor.  His last church was the First Baptist Church of Granite Falls, which he served for 42 years.  Bob enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Lake Lure.  His other passion was woodworking.

Survivors include his devoted wife of over 60 years, Marcia Wood Evans; two sons, Dr. Rob Evans (wife Linda) and Mark Evans (wife Kim); a daughter, Ashleigh Evans Johnson (husband Adam); two sisters, Virginia Evans Johnston (husband Dan) and Ethel White Pugh; his grandchildren, Kortnie, Baker, Justin, Josh, Nate, Andy and Erin-Hope; his great grandson, Robbie; dearest friends, Dr. Ronnie Owen (wife Nancy); he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Granite Falls at 2:00 PM with Dr. Rob Evans and Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating.  Interment will follow the service at the Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Bowman, Scott Brittian, Greg Johnson, Mark Johnson, Tim Phelps,   Kevin Prince, Rick Settlemyre and Andy Teague.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
