Robert Wilson Hartley, age 80, of Lenoir, North Carolina, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Robert was born in Caldwell County, North Carolina on January 28, 1945 to the late Foke and Frances Hartley.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Doyle Hartley and Gene Hartley; brother-in-law, David McCracken; and sister, Thelma Hartley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Robert Hartley and wife Paula, Shawn Hartley and wife Sonya, and Frank Hartley and wife Crystal; brothers, Walter Hartley and wife Darlene, and Joe Hartley and wife Linda; sisters, Helen McCracken, Wilma Stewart and husband Jim, and Edna Smith and Husband Randall; grandchildren, Sammy Hartley, Cory Hartley, Cynthia Hartley, Cody Hartley, Jacob Hartley, Nicholas Hartley, and Justin Hartley; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Hartley and Zane Hartley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He took great pride in serving his country. Robert's faith was very important to him. He was devoted to his Lord and Savior and gave his heart, mind, and body to Jesus Christ. Not only did Robert serve his country, he served his community as well. He volunteered at local food banks and took part in Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed golfing and billiards in his spare time. He will be dearly missed.

A graveside service to honor the life of Robert Hartley will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 1pm at Baton Baptist Church Cemetery.
