Robert Ervin Williams, age 83, of Lenoir passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. He was born November 8, 1941 in Caldwell County to the late Lawrence Williams and Ruby Crews Williams. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter, Revonda Ellison; one brother, Elmer Williams; and two nieces.
Mr. Williams was a proud veteran of the U.S. National Guard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Barbara Earp Williams; two sons, Robert Williams (Crystal) and Tim Williams (Denise); two brothers, Ralph Williams (Maggie) and Marvin Williams (Mary); two sisters, Eva Greene and Ester Thorwarth (Conrad); one brother-in-law, Paul Earp (Patsy); one sister-in-law, Jane Price; dear friend, Jack Robinowitz; six grandchildren, Ryan Ellison, Tyler Williams (Jamie), Haley Carlton (Ethan), Courtney Williams, Megan Bowman (Adam), and Justin Greene; eight great-grandchildren, Trinity Ellison, Christopher Ellison, Elam Bowman, Charlee Hollifield, Zebediah Bowman, Maggie Carlton, Lacie Williams, and Grady Bowman; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Griffith and Rev. Bob Hodges officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Nazareth Advent Christian Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. National Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Williams, Justin Greene, Adam Bowman, Ethan Carlton, Christopher Ellison, and Paul Earp. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Strouse, Logan Mikeals, and Ryan Ellison.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
