Mr. Rodney Dean Bolick, age 69, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 10, 1956 in Watauga County, Rodney was the youngest son of the late John Marcus and Sarah Lois Hollars Bolick. He was a graduate of Hibriten High School and a general contractor for over 47 years. He also owned his own wood working shop where he custom made furniture and other special items.
Rodney was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing. He was a lifelong member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Lenoir where he loved serving his Lord and Savior.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Wilma Chandler Bolick; Daughters, Michelle Bolick Hagaman (Johnny) and Dena Bolick Ford (Eric); Grandsons, Jeremiah Ford and McKinley Hagaman; Grand-daughters, Dora Hagaman, Kyleigh Ford and Madison Ford; Brother, Johnnie Marcus Bolick, Jr (Linda); Nephews, Shawn Bolick (Cindy), Steven Chandler and Matthew Howell (Jessica); Nieces, Brandi Warren (Jason) and Briana Scronce (Avery); Aunts, Shirley Swanson (Ralph), Christine Bolick, Fannie Bryant and Wilma Sanders (Ned); Uncles, Henry Hollars (Kathy) and Billy Hollars (Linda); he is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Rodney treasured his relationship with God, his whole family, friends and co-workers. He will truly be missed, but his legacy will live on in the individuals is whose lives he influenced and touched.
Memorial Contributions can be sent to St. Marks Lutheran Church in Lenoir in loving memory of Rodney Bolick.
A funeral service for Rodney will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Louise Sitton and Pastor J.R. Robbins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bolick Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory of Lenoir are serving the Bolick family.
