Rosa Lee Martin, age 84, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at her home.
Born November 17, 1939 in Caldwell County, Rosa Lee was a daughter of the late Walter and Oleta Pitts Johnson. Rosa Lee was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and played the piano there for over 50 years. Rosa Lee later joined Mountain View Baptist Church. Rosa Lee was an excellent seamstress and was known for her willingness to help the community. She worked many years for Broyhill Furniture Main Office. Rosa Lee and her husband, Jack, then started Southwood Products Company. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Martin.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Martin Coffey (husband Joel) and Kimberly Martin Haus (husband Tom); a brother, James H. Johnson; two sisters, Mary Musshafen (husband John) and Margaret Parker; three grandchildren, Jessica Gilbert, Travis Coffey and Will Haus (wife Kaari); four great grandchildren, Presley Gilbert, Oden Coffey, Obie Coffey and Freya Haus; she is also survived by numerous other relatives.
A celebration of Rosa Lee's life will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hoyle officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Her immediate family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Coffey, Mark Parker, Charles Martin, Jr., Charles Martin III, Tyler Martin, Roger Edmisten and George Walwarth.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mountain View Baptist Church Food Pantry at 3005 Shallow Creek Road, Lenoir, NC 28645 (Attention: Judy Ouzts).
