Mrs. Rosa Lovins Putman, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at her home.

Born December 23, 1931 in Caldwell County, Rosa was a daughter of the late Franklin and Elizabeth Winkler Lovins.  Rosa was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church.  She loved feeding birds.  She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edgar Putman; three sisters, Vera McGowan Sullivan, Sharon Lovins Goble and Edith Lovins Correll; a brother, Rhon Winkler.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Thomas J. "Jeff" Putman (wife Natalie Townsend); two brothers, Nolan D. Lovins and Marvin D. Lovins (wife Sarah); two granddaughters, Laura R. Pitman (husband Paul) and Elizabeth Putman Patrick (husband Jackson); four great grandchildren, Thomas Edward Pitman, Davis Folger Pitman, Kinsey Elizabeth Patrick and John Maxwell Patrick; she is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A graveside celebration of Rosa's life will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Dr. David Smith officiating.
