Roy Jennings Bryan, Sr., age 81, of Connelly Springs passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1942 in Watauga County to the late Arlie Bryan and Edna Ellison Bryan. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son, Roy Jennings Bryan, Jr.; two brothers, Wayne Bryan and Stephen Bryan; and one sister, Evelyn Mast.

Mr. Bryan was a loving husband and father. He will be dearly missed by many.

Those left surviving include his wife, Sandra Suddreth Bryan, of the home; one daughter, Hope Bumgarner and husband Stanley Bumgarner of Granite Falls; two grandchildren, Casey Hulon and wife Paige of Wilmington, NC and Justin Hulon of Hickory; two brothers, Ronnie Bryan and family, and Phil Bryan and family; one nephew, Arlie Mast and family; three sisters, Lydia McClellan and family, Linda Gentry and family, and Kathy Day and family; one brother-in-law, Shane Suddreth and family; and one sister-in-law, Camilla Low and family.
