Roy Everett Chapman, age 89, of Morganton, NC passed away on October 4, 2023 following a period of declining health.

Roy was born on October 28, 1933 in Burke County to the late Fronie Susan Chapman.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Chapman; step-children, Allen Woodard, Bobby Woodard, and David Woodard; and one sister, Gert Jordan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his step-children, Pat Jordan and husband Melvin Ross, Linda Pridgen, and Charles Woodard; one niece; and two nephews.

Roy was a truck driver for about 50 years. He really enjoyed driving trucks. He will be remembered as a very good man to all who knew him. He was a wonderful step-dad and a good friend to many people. He was always jolly, and he is going to be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 4:00 PM at South Mt. Community Church officiating located at 3321 Baptist Camp Road, Connelly Springs, NC 28612 with Pastor Bryan Gragg.
