Roy Levi Pitts, age 90, of Lenoir passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. He was the son of the late Marshall G. Pitts and Bessie Davis Pitts. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gentry Pitts; brothers, Jay and Ray Pitts; sisters, Pansy Kirby, Oleta Johnson, Ann Keesee, Irene Hartsoe, and Billie Sue West.

Roy was a math teacher and an inventor of many gadgets large and small that made his life easier in his latter years. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Lenoir.

Roy is survived by seven nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

We are honoring the promises we made to Uncle Roy. There will be no visitation or memorial service. He did request a simple graveside service. That service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Annas officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis West, Ronny Pitts, Billy Joe Moore; Chris Young, and Jeremiah Annas.
