Ruby Coffey Roberts, 81, left this world for her heavenly home on Sunday January 28, 2024.

Born November 27, 1942 in Caldwell County, Ruby was a daughter of the late Vilas & Bessie McGee Coffey.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sons, Rickey Chester and  Alan Chester; brothers Larry, Roy, Grady & Ralph Coffey; sister Marie Bearden; love of her life Roger Mccroskey; a special child, Spencer Hendrix

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Cassidy and husband Kenneth; a brother, Frank Coffey; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruby was a God-fearing woman who loved her family and her church, New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church.  She loved singing in the choir.  She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  It is an honor for those who knew her and she will be deeply missed.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers & Amorem Hospice in Hudson.

A Celebration of Ruby's life will be held at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Richie Triplett and Jimmy Hamby officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Kings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be David Coffey, Russell Coffey, JR Todd, Glen Coffey, Ronnie Hendrix and Robert Wardrup. Honorary pallbearer will be Eddie Chester.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
