Mr. Rueben Clyde Helton, age 38, of Hudson passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Born May 16, 1985, Catawba County, Rueben was a son of Mike Andrew and Becky Hubbard Helton.

Rueben was an educator and loved teaching kids.  He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and snowboarding.  He had worked at MDI for many years.  Rueben was very social, loved animals and playing music.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Andrew Helton, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was also survived by a sister, Crystal Helton Brooks (husband Ashley); a brother, Zack Helton (wife Dana); two nephews, Oliver Helton and Oden Helton; he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A memorial service for Rueben will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church with Pastor Kyle Lloyd officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The family requests memorials be made to the Dudley Shoals Baptist Church Scholarship Fund at 1882 Dudley Shoals Road, Granite Falls, NC  28630.
