Russell "Scrub" Barton Miller Jr., age 77, of Hudson, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at his residence.

Russell was born in June 25, 1948 in Caldwell County to the late Russell Miller Sr. and Cleo Ritchie Miller.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Laxton Miller, and sisters, Bartley Miller, Isabelle Reid, and Rebecca Ramsey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, April James (Brian), and grandchildren, Carly James and Sara Hoover.

Russell "Scrub" enjoyed building. He was a carpenter by trade, and he was excellent at his job. One of the houses he built was featured in a calendar. He collected nutcrackers and liked old tools. He enjoyed watching old western movies as well. He will be dearly missed.
