Ruth Garnes May, age 88, of Granite Falls, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 7, 2025.

Ruth was born to the late William T. Garnes and Dorothy Quinn Garnes in Caldwell County on February 23, 1937.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Mac Donal May; brothers, James Garnes, Joe Billy Garnes, Ed Garnes, and Harold Garnes; sisters, Faye Haas, Wanda Walker, Edith Haas, and Vera Haas; and one grandson, Matthew Spencer May.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Marlon May (Brenda), and Mike May (Karen), all of Granite Falls; daughters, Rita Dyson (Tim) of Taylorsville, and Linda Simmons (Dwayne) of Hickory; granddaughters, Abbey Duggan and Lindsay Jordan (Richard); two great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd Garnes; and sister, Marie Garnes.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Granite Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Floyd Crouch officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Granite Baptist Tabernacle, 760 Dudley Shoals Road, Granite Falls NC 28645.
