Scott Alan Malicoat passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of the 28th of May, leaving behind a deep ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was larger than life, a man full of adventure, love, laughter, and big dreams. The kind of person whose presence could fill a room and whose absence will be felt forever.

More than anything, he loved his family. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy, and being "Papa" was his favorite role in life. He loved his grandbabies fiercely and was deeply passionate about seeing them grow up knowing the Lord and being raised in church.

He loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle and the adventure of being a pirate on his boat, where some of the best memories were made. He was recently voted in as the Commander at the American Legion Post 209 in Granite Falls as he was a proud Marine Corps. Veteran. He lived life fully, loved people deeply, and never knew a stranger. He dreamed big, laughed loud, loved hard, and left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though this loss feels sudden and unbearable, we find comfort knowing he is reunited with his mother, Barbara Malicoat (Solomon), father, Willis Malicoat, uncle, Butch Solomon, and beloved friend Monty Setzer, who went before him.

He leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Courtney Turner, four children Michael Rivera, Scott Malicoat II (wife Katelyn), Sarah Rash (husband Logan), Noël Malicoat, four cherished grandchildren, countless friends, and a family who will carry his memory with them always.

While this loss leaves an ache words cannot fully express, we hold tightly to the promises of God and the hope found in Christ. His life reminded us to love boldly, live fully, and hold close the people God has given us.
