Shannon Church Gregg, age 51, of Hudson, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025 surrounded by family and friends. Born on March 27, 1973, in Caldwell County, Shannon was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, and friend whose vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Shannon had a deep love for the coast. Anytime she could, she would eagerly ride shotgun to the beach, her heart drawn to the sand and sea. One of her greatest joys was collecting shark teeth, a pastime she cherished. Her love for nature extended to her garden, where she poured her heart and soul into nurturing her plants and vegetables, especially in the spring.

Family was everything to Shannon. She was a proud mother to her five children and a devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she treasured the time spent with her loved ones. She was also a beloved daughter to her mother, Janet Barnett and father, Raby Barnett and a wife to her husband, Tim Gregg, with whom she shared many beautiful years together.

Shannon's passion for life extended to her work. She worked as an Office Manager at Sunbelt Rentals, where she made an impact with her dedication and hardworking nature. Although she had completed some college, her greatest achievement was always her family and the love she shared with them.

Shannon's light and energy will continue to inspire and live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love for the outdoors, for her family, and for all the joy she brought to those around her.

Shannon was preceded in death by her father, Raby Barnett, her aunt, Patty Younce, and her grandmother, Wanda Blackwell and is survived by her husband Tim Gregg of Hudson, North Carolina, her children, son, Cody McCreary and partner Kristen McCreary of El Paso, Texas, daughter, Danyel Miller and partner Emily Miller of Morganton, North Carolina, daughter, Amber Miller and partner Jessie Hunt of Granite Falls, North Carolina, son, Zackary Miller of Charlotte, North Carolina, and son, Tanner Miller and partner Ethan Miller of Durham, North Carolina. Her grandchildren, Bryson Miller, JC Hunt, Colton McCreary, Rilyn Gilbert, Ashlynne Hunt, Anderson McCreary, and Waylon Hunt, her mother, Janet Barnett of Lenoir, North Carolina, and many other family members and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

A celebration of her life will be held on March 24, 2025 where family and friends will gather to honor Shannon's legacy in a private ceremony. Floral tributes are warmly welcomed at Greer McElveen Funeral Home & Crematory located at 725 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, North Carolina 28645.
