Shelby Dorsey Ellis, age 85, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at her residence. She was born February 21, 1940 in Gaston County to the late Chrisley Dorsey and Alma Totherow Dorsey. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, James Dorsey and Chrisley Dorsey, Jr.; and six sisters, Edna Dorsey, Geneva Ramsey, Louise Henderson, Alberta Taylor, Caleen Hawkins, and Carol June Leonhardt.

Those left to cherish her memory include one brother, William Dorsey and wife Gay; two sisters, Mary Lee Smith and Rosielee Shuford and husband Wayne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
