Shirley Shatley Clark, age 70, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away in her home on October 2, 2023.

She was born to the late Rufus and Allie Shatley in Caldwell County on August 1, 1953.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Gary Rufus Shatley.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Scott Clark; son Michael Allen Church; sisters, Dorothy Kerley, Jane Howell and husband Keith, Barbara Garton, and Sherrie Shatley; grandchildren, Brittany Church, Michael Allen Church Jr. and wife Ashley, Taylor Lane Church, and Hannah Gail Church; great-grandchildren Ethan, Gigi, Michael Church III, Ezekiel, and Briella; her brothers in law Tim and wife Lynn Clark and brother in law Robert and wife Teresa Clark; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other beloved friends and family members.

Shirley and Scott were devoted to one another and loved each other dearly until the end. She loved her family with all her heart. She was a good hearted woman who was very fun to be around. She was a wonderful cook, whether she admitted it or not, and no one is going to be able to replicate her signature lasagna. She is going to be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00PM with Reverend James Wilfong officiating.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:00PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Trivette, Dustin Howell, Jared Trivette, Richard Poe, David Huskey, and Eddie Chester. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Curtis and Keith Curtis.
