Shirley Haigler Taylor, age 88, of Lenoir passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born November 25, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late John P. Haigler and Carrie Beach Haigler. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Taylor; two brothers, Jerry Haigler and Roy Haigler; and five sisters, Agnes Kidd, Judy Anderson, Vergie Kidd, Ina Livingston, and Vicki Haigler.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sisters, Eula McFalls and husband Thomas of Lenoir, and Susie Powell and husband Randy of Morganton; numerous nieces and nephews and beloved extended family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom McDonald officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Lower Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lower Creek Baptist Church, 633 Lower Creek Dr NE, Lenoir, NC 28645; or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Caldwell UNC Health Care and Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation for the exceptional care provided to Mrs. Taylor.
