Stephen Daniel Swafford went to be with his Lord and savior on November 6, 2024.

Stephen was born on February 1, 1975 in Bloomington, Indiana to Marjorie Cole, and the late Dale Swafford. Stephen grew up alongside his brothers Micah and Timothy Swafford, the three of them giving his mother gray hair before age did.

Left to love him always is his wife of twenty seven years, Danielle. Danielle made Stephen the best girl dad to four daughters, Brittany (husband Jonathan), Samantha, Christina, and Makayla. Stephen continued that trend loving on his five granddaughters, Isabella, Elena, Camilla, Zoriyah, and Paisley.

Others to cherish his memory are his in-laws Anne and David Philyaw, Diane Nassr, brother in law, Bill Nasser (wife Bethany,) his little sisters Grace McElyea (husband Shane,) Shelby Philyaw, and numerous nieces and nephews that he was so proud of. Special family members include Manuel Enamorado, Christian Brown, and Christan Elrod.

Next to loving his family immensely, Stephen was strong in his faith, an avid New York Giants fan, lover of music, a gamer - where he met some great friends, including his best friend Kyle Martin, and a huge jokester (even unintentionally.) Stephen was not one to sit next to during a serious event because he'd make you laugh with just a look. If you needed to laugh, a shoulder to cry, or just somebody's presence, Stephen was the one to go to.

Stephen would often be described as a goofball, loving, shy but adventurous, ridiculously silly, faithful, strong, courageous and so much more. Stephen was always who he needed to be to everyone he loved and who loved him. Stephen loved with all his heart, and people felt every bit of it.

We truly don't know how to navigate this world without such a soul, but knowing he is with his savior, both his father and father-in-law and many more loved ones watching over us makes it just a little easier. Until we see his funny faces or feel the warmth of his hugs again, Stephen would want us to celebrate life and the Lord, because he knows he will be waiting for us in Heaven.

Memorial services will be held Saturday November 16, 2024 at 3:30 pm with receiving of friends beginning at 3:00 pm.

Services will be held at Harvest Church of Hudson: 368 Cedar Valley Rd, Hudson NC 28638.

Stephen would approve of any NY Giants attire, as well as red or blue to represent.
