Steve Leon Harmon, age 73, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away in his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.

Steve was born on April 13, 1951 to the late K.Z. Harmon and Annie Ruff Harmon in Caldwell County, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Elaine White and grandson, Benjamin Willis.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 33 years, Kathie Harmon; sons, Kam Harmon and Robbie Bacon; daughters, Kristen Harmon (Ashley), Vanessa Tidmarsh, Angela Laws (Brad), Marjorie Causby (Ronnie), and Stacey Harmon; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman. He drove trucks his entire life, starting when he was a teenager. Steve served honorably in the United States Air Force for 11 years. Most importantly, Steve was a family man. His grandchildren and family were the most important things in his life. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service to honor the life of Steve Harmon will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sam Craven officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1pm until 2pm.
