Susan Mary Ayers Teague, age 70, of Lenoir, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Susan was born on September 18, 1955 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to the late John and Marjorie Ayers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Duane Ayers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Amanda Copeland (Matthew) and Tonya Severt (Jason); brother, Joel Ayers (Mary); sister-in-law, Jean Ayers; niece, Shannon Ayers (David Troutman); and numerous other friends and loved ones.

Susan was always smiling. She had a jovial demeanor, and it was impossible not to like her. She never met a stranger, and would talk to anyone any time. Susan was a member of Decision Independent Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of South Lenoir Church of God, before joining Decision Independent Baptist Church. She cleaned the church in her spare time. Susan was always serving others. She had a true servant's heart. She was a lifelong resident of Caldwell County, and spent her entire working career in the furniture industry, with the longest being Broyhill and Bernhardt.

A memorial service to honor the life of Susan Teague will be held at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 2:00pm with Reverend Hoss Moore officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 1:00pm until 2:00pm before the service at the funeral home.
