Terry Baxter Laws, 77, of Lenoir passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at Charles George VA Medical Center Asheville following a period of declining health.

Terry was born on January 11, 1947 in Caldwell County to the late Max Millard Laws and Hazel Crump Laws. He served in the US Navy from August 24, 1965 to August 27, 1971. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Terry worked in furniture manufacturing where he worked the majority of his career. Terry was also a member of Ambassador Baptist Church in Hudson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Steve Laws and Max Laws.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Eldon Dewayne Laws and Darren Oneal Laws, daughter, Monica Shey Laws; siblings; Larry Laws, Linda Bentley, Jerrell Laws, Buddy Laws, Randy Laws, and Kathy McCord; and two grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Rev. John Sawyer officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Laws, Randy Laws, Buddy Laws, Gary Austin, Dan Kistler, and David McCord.

Interment will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charles George VA Medical Center Volunteer Services at 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805 or Ambassador Baptist Church at 239 Mt Herman Rd, Hudson, NC 28638.
