Timothy Nathanael
Nelson
Jan 17, 1963 — Nov 22, 2025
Lenoir
It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to our sweet Tim. He passed away peacefully at his home on November 22, 2025.
He was 62 years old, born January 17, 1963 to Bill and Nadine Nelson. He married Sharon in May of 1987, born to Gladys Eggers (Coy Head). Tim and Sharon had three wonderful children together, Kelli, Nicole, and Isaac, and one grandson, Lucas.
He worked for Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals for the last 20 years and was loved dearly by his work family. He was a wonderful husband, a loving father, a brother and a friend to many. He was humble and loved the Lord and talked with his kids about God. He felt the closest to God out in nature, doing what he loved, hunting and fishing. Although his eternal life met him sooner than expected, he was at peace in his heart. He will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Gordon Nelson; a son, Isaac Nathanael Nelson; daughters, Nicole Renae Nelson (Joshua Smith) and Kelli Marie Nelson; Step Father, Coy Head; Brothers, Jonathan Stuart Nelson, Tommy Eugene Helton (Ruth), Leslie Edmund Nelson (Clarese), Jeremy Andrew Nelson and Stephen Walsh (Delores); sisters, Valerie Summerow, Tina Robbins, Robin Nichols, Maureen Collins and Sandy Price; grandchild, Lucas Bradley Ensminger; an aunt, Marie Kirby; uncles, Billy Storie and Wayne Storie; a cousin, Greg Kirby; nieces, Amber Nelson, Courtney Gordon, Stephanie Barger and Cassandra Townsend; and nephews, Tyler Gordon and Edmund Nelson.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service that will be held at Setzer's Gap Church, Saturday November 29, 2025 at 2:00 P.M.
Interment will immediately follow the service at the Setzer's Gap Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Kirby, Charlie Teague, Tyler Caldwell, Edmund Nelson, Stephen Walsh and Brian Walsh.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." -Revelation 21:4-5 Our hearts are heavy, but we are at peace knowing he has found rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the family's Go Fund Me, to help cover miscellaneous expenses. The link can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/supporting-my-mom-after-the-loss-of-my-father
