Violet Kirby Bowman, age 86, of Collettsville passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024 at her residence. She was born October 11, 1937 in Caldwell County to the late Ralph Kirby and Della Chester Kirby. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bowman; one son, Randy Bowman; one daughter, Jackie Philyaw; one grandson, Johnny Lee Bowman; and seven siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include four sons, Johnny Bowman (Missy) of Collettsville, Jerry Bowman of Lenoir, Danny Bowman (Tina) of Morganton, and Terry Bowman (Martha) of Collettsville; one daughter, Tina Arnette (Dennis) of Lenoir; ten beloved grandchildren, Ginger, Hannah, Amber, Heather, Krystal, Katie, Adam, Lucy, DJ, and Ivey; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
