Violet McNeil Joines, age 90, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Trinity Village of Hickory. She was born November 26, 1933 in Wilkes County to the late Edgar Hill McNeil and Gladys Hawkins McNeil. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James F. Joines; and three brothers, Ham McNeil, John McNeil, and Stanley McNeil.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Jennifer Bumgarner and husband Deron of Newton, and Janet Howard and husband Lee of Lewisville, NC; three brothers, Clark McNeil and wife Irene of Ferguson, Pat McNeil and wife Suzanne of Wilkesboro, and Earl McNeil of Purlear; one sister, Muriel Walker and husband Danny of Ferguson; four beloved grandchildren, Emily Bumgarner, Diana Bumgarner, Joshua Howard, and Lydia Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Cauble officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Elk Baptist Church, 1278 Elk Creek Darby Rd, Ferguson, NC 28624.
