Virginia Davis, 87, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on June 29th to be with her beloved husband on his birthday.

Virginia was well known throughout the surrounding counties for her paintings and art work. She retired from Baton Elementary School and enjoyed the mountains, gardening, and spending time with her family.

To know Virginia was to love her. She had a close relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, whom she talked about frequently. She had such an impact on her community.

She was married to James M. Davis, Jr. (aka Buddy) whom she shared five children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Davis and son, Jimmy Davis.

Surviving family members include her sister, Billie Roberts of Hudson, NC, brother-in-law, Richard Davis (Ann) of Asheville, NC, and children Sherri Tayloe (David) of Rock Hill, SC, Donna Pinion (Robby) of Lenoir, NC, Lea Efird (Virgil) of Locust, NC and David Davis (Jeanne) of Lenoir, NC.

Grandchildren include: Matthew Tayloe, Tamara Letterman, Taylor Richey, Seth Efird, Savannah Efird, Sophia Efird, Gracie Clark and Jillian Hudgins of Valdese, NC, and a great grandchild, James Davis Richey, as well as a special cousin, Bobby Winkler.

She also leaves behind two beloved fur babies, Topper and Peanut.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at the home of Virginia Davis on July 13th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
