Virginia Ann McKinney Cook, age 74, of Lenoir passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born February 20, 1952 in Park County, Colorado to the late John McKinney and Carolee Bean McKinney. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 40 years, Christopher David Cook; two daughters, Lucinda Landrum and Theresa Pope; two brothers, John McKinney (Shirley) and Wayne McKinney; three sisters, Crystal McKinney, Diane McKinney, and Dorothy McKinney; several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Perry officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
