Wallace Dean Newman, age 85 of Granite Falls passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at his residence. He was born April 25, 1941 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Clifford Newman and Etta Lineberry Newman. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by eight siblings.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Geraldine Brady Newman; two sons, Richie Newman and wife Natalie and Waylon Newman; one daughter, Vickie Cutshall and husband Kenneth; five siblings; six grandchildren, Ashley, Alesha, Wyatt, Caleb, Lauren, and Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jayden, and Andrew; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth, Caleb, Ryan, Dan, Stacy, and Rob. Honorary pallbearers will be Wyatt, Jacob, Jayden, Andrew.
