Wayne Stewart Wyke, age 84, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 in Burke County, North Carolina.

Wayne was born on March 3, 1942 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to the late Leroy and Patsy Wyke.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Linda Wyke; children, Mark Wyke, April Wyke Daily (Sam), Jason Wyke (Kim), and Justin Wyke; brothers, Danny Wyke (Shirlene) and Roger Wyke (Kathy); sister, Retta Wyke Austin (Gary); grandchildren, Mekayla Holland (Connor), Hope Vance (Jeffrey), Duke Daily (Brittany), Dustin Williams (Kelsie), and Luke Jackson; and great grandchildren, Blakley Holland, Marshall Holland, Jake Vance, Lyla Vance, Grady Daily, Banks Daily, and Madelynn Williams.

As a young man, Wayne joined the Navy serving 4 years of active duty and 2 years in Reserves. He married his wife, Linda and raised their family in the Gamewell community.  He worked his career in Lenoir at Barger & Ash Roofing Company.  He worked there alongside men who would become friends for life.

He was also a dedicated Christian as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  His devotion to God and his family truly earned him deep respect from all that knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 13th at 12:00PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. 2046 Morganton Blvd., Lenoir, NC 28645
