Wilburn Chester Haas, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Wilburn was born on March 3, 1943 in Caldwell County, NC to the late Charles Lee and Betty Johnson Haas.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Debra Haas; sons, Scott Haas and wife Karen and Timothy Haas and wife Donna; daughters, Kimberly Harris and husband Dudley, Amy Parlier and husband Justin, Melissa Bowen, and Erica Haas; sisters, Phyllis Bryant and Peggy Reid; grandchildren, Josh Burger, Ashley Rodman, Darren Burger, Amber Falcetta, Danielle Tipton, CJ Lennon, and Emmy Ferguson; 11 great grandchildren, best friend of 40+ years, Gerard Foster, and numerous other friends, family, and loved ones.

Wilburn was a devout Jehovah's Witness. He loved his bluegrass music, sports, and classic country music. He also loved his family very much. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. He was a postal carrier for over 40 years, and he never met a stranger. Wilburn could talk to anyone. He loved people, good or bad it didn't matter. He loved them anyway. He loved his county and serving his community. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
