William Harold Jones, 76, of Hickory passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 following a period of declining health.

William was born on May 10, 1947 in Shelby County, Tennessee to the late Granville Leon Jones, Sr. and Edna Idell Barron Jones. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. After his honorable discharge in 1968, William pursued a career as a Paramedic and Firefighter. He proudly served the City of Memphis until his retirement in 1993. William enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Jones; sister-in law, Maxine Jones; and nephew, Jeff Jones.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Jones; daughter, Leigh-Anne Boggs and spouse Jeff; brothers, Granville Jones, Jr., Eddie Jones, and David Jones; sister-in law, Bobbie Jones; grandsons, Clayton Boggs and Cole Boggs; and several nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date.
