William "Paul" Lewis, age 84, of Hudson passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Amorem Hospice. He was born December 14, 1940 in Watauga County to the late Frank W. Lewis and Florance Hodges Lewis. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Wade Lewis; and four sisters, Sarah Adkins, Mildred Kennedy, Clara Taylor, and Juanita Lewis.

Paul was a member of Lenoir Community Church. Before his retirement Paul worked in construction. He was a United States Army Veteran. Paul and his wife loved to fish and travel together.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 43 years, Linda Cooke Lewis, of the home; one step-son, James "Douglas" Laney (Kathy) of Morganton; one step-daughter, Laura Gentry (Richard) of Granite Falls; one daughter, Mary Lewis Farr (Bill) of Indiana; one brother, Claude Lewis (Angelina) of Boone; ten beloved grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Dan Greene officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.

Serving as pallbearers will be Douglas Laney, Stacy Gentry, Richard Gentry, Adam King, CJ Laney, and Matthew Laney.
