Lewis A. Craig, age 88, of Confidence Church Road, Lenoir, died Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the residence. He was born December 3, 1926, in Watauga County to the late Aaron B. Craig and Ethel Ford Craig. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Moore Craig; and two sons, Marshall L. Craig and Bruce L. Craig; one brother, John W. Craig; and two sisters, Florence Craig and Susie Craig. Mr. Craig was retired from Singer Furniture. He also was a United States World War II Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Dellinger Craig of the home; two sons, Richard A. Coffey and wife Martha Hartley and William Thomas Coffey, Jr and wife Thelma, both of Collettsville; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Craig Hudspeth and husband Terry of Collettsville, Ms. Deborah Craig Thomas of Lenoir and Mrs. Joyce C. Watson and husband Tom of Lenoir; one brother, James R. Craig of Blowing Rock; two sisters, Cora P. Ray of Deep Gap and Ester O. Critcher of Boone; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Raymond Coffey, Rev. David Gragg. Interment will follow at the Crisp Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Shoemake, Dustin Coffey, Jason Coffey, Adam Hardin, Randy Wilson, Lyle Ford, Tom Watson, Donnie Gragg and Brandon Arrowood. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Greene, Harvey Story, Mike Calloway, Jason Calloway, Susan Logan, Monica Steed, Charity Hudspeth, Amanda Ward, Matthew Craig, Rebekah Craig and Scott Coffey.
