Jack Steven Sanders, Sr., age 73, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at his residence. He was born June 14, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late Banner and Ruth Hicks Sanders. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Terry Sanders; and one sister, Kay Chapman.

Mr. Sanders was an avid woodworker, carp fisher, and joke teller. He enjoyed restoring his classic cars and spending time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was making people laugh and lifting the spirits of others. He will be remembered for the unwavering love and devotion he had for his family, friends, and most importantly his Lord and Savior.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 36 years, Cindy Houck Sanders, of the home; one son, Jack "Bug" Sanders and fiancée Karen White of Lenoir; two brothers, Danny Sanders and wife Janet of Shelby, and Larry Sanders of Hickory; one sister, Doris Warren of Lenoir; and one granddaughter, Bethany Sanders.

Memorial services will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Keith Gilliam.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Church, 1890 Connelly Springs Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
