Joshua Kenneth Woods, age 40, of Rocky Road, Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Caldwell UNC Health Care.  He was born July 23, 1979 in Forsyth County to Debra Hicks Woods and the late Jackie Kenneth Woods.

Mr. Woods had worked as an EMT and dispatcher for Caldwell County and was a volunteer fireman for Yadkin Valley Fire Department until his declining health.  He was a member of Green Mountain Baptist Church, attended Clearview Baptist Church and dearly loved his Carolina Tar Heels.

Joshua was a wonderful, caring Christian husband, father, son and brother and a friend to all who knew him.  His life centered around his loving family and friends.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include his loving wife, Keesha Phillips Woods of the home; two sons, Dominiq Helton of Lenoir and Xavier Helton of the home; three daughters, Zoe M. Woods of Lenoir, Chloe Helton and Stephanie Shatley, both of the home; two brothers, Jesse Woods and wife April of Lenoir and Dr. Joel Woods and fiancée Dr. Angela Petracca of Greensboro; two nephews, Preston Shell and Iseral Hendrix; and one niece, Adrienne Woods.

Due to COVID-19 the family will have private services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Hagaman, John Gibson, Jarred Pennell, David Aldridge, Danny Woods and Charles Hicks.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Green Mountain Baptist Church.
