The original funeral home began uptown Lenoir in 1927 by Mr. G.W. Greer and moved to the current location on Wilkesboro Boulevard in 1972.
The McElveen family has owned Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory for over 40 years. Jim and Hilda McElveen have brought over 59 years of experience, knowledge, and commitment to the business. In the current years, Jim and Hilda’s son Tony, along with Tony’s daughter, Cassie, has continued the tradition of serving the community. They uphold the meaning of professionalism and service.
